Scott Tiano

Tiano is responsible for JS Western Partner’s long-term corporate and asset management strategy, along with spearheading all equity and debt relationships. Tiano founded JS Western in 2012 to acquire core plus and value add investments on behalf of private investors and family offices.

Prior to embarking on his career in commercial real estate, Tiano spent 3 years (from 1996-1998) producing independent feature films. With 5 financially successful films completed, Tiano shifted his focus to consumer product licensing. Having saved up enough money, Tiano began his career in commercial real estate in 2004. From 2004 to 2010, Tiano was one of Sperry Van Ness’ leading real estate investment brokers focusing on retail assets and eventually co-founded Wilson Commercial Investment Sales Group (which was subsequently acquired by Jones Lang LaSalle). Tiano syndicated his first deal in 2007, just in time for the Global Financial Crisis. Having survived three challenging years in the trenches, in 2011 he was asked to become a partner at LS Capital where he was involved in acquiring retail shopping centers and distressed debt throughout the Western US. In 2012, Tiano formed JS Western and from 2012 to 2026, JS Western’s portfolio has grown to a total value of approximately $450 million.

Tiano holds a Bachelor of Arts from UCLA in International Economics. As someone committed to both family and philanthropy, Mr. Tiano balances his time with his wife and two children living in Agoura Hills, CA. Mr. Tiano serves on the boards of the UCLA Masters of Real Estate & Development program, Jewish Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Los Angeles (where he has been an active “big brother” since 1998), and was a former board member of The Jewish Federation of Los Angeles. Tiano is also a member of Real Estate Presidents (“RPO”), a giving circle committed to serving a broad array of causes and serves as a mentor to various mentees throughout LA. In his spare time, Mr. Tiano plays the drums, travels, and enjoys hiking, kayaking, and simply being outdoors.
